US-Based Navigation Components
You’ll notice the same kind of connectors
here that you’d see behind a Symphony I or
II head unit. Disconnect these if installing
an RNS-E.
The US-based navigation unit has the same
kind of GPS interface (SMB connector).
You can a GPS connector cable with a
FAKRA connector for the RNS-E and retain
your OEM GPS antenna. See

Please note: This picture is meant to describe how someone could use the GPS antenna from their existing
navigation system (US-based) for a RNS-E upgrade. This is NOT meant to show how to add the US-based navigation
option. To the best of my knowledge, I don’t think anyone has performed this particular upgrade.
